A court will grant a Decree of Divorce if:
- The parties have lived apart for at least four of the past five years.
- There is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation between the parties.
- Proper arrangements must have been made or will be made for the spouses and any dependent members of the family such as children of either party and other relatives.
Orders may also be made in relation to custody and access to children, payment of maintenance and lump sums, the occupation and ownership of property, pension entitlements, succession rights, etc.
